super cool! ich tue mir jedoch schwer die suche in Firefox als Standardsuchmaschine festzulegen. Ist das möglich, wenn ja wie? Vielleicht wäre das für andere Leser auch interessant und es würde sich ein Microblog-Eintrag ergeben?

Ich habe Searx auf meiner freedomboxinstalliert. Hast Du da Bedenken? Nachdem ich alles auf Deutsch umgestellt habe, hat auch die Suche nach Kuketz Ergebnisse geliefert.
The root problem that causes the Google CAPTCHA error in the first screenshot is that Google has a rate limit on queries (how many queries can be made from one IP address per second). You haven’t seen this problem on searx.be because not many people are using searx.be. But if I made searx.be the default for Privacy Browser, and if a lot of people were to use Privacy Browser, than it would have the same problem. As such, switching instances isn’t a solution. Redesigning the Searx data source is the answer, with the only full answer probably being running its own index (a ginormous and difficult project).
However, I would encourage you to continue using searx.be, or whichever other instance works best for you, as your search engine and homepage. It will work well as long as only a few people use it.
